There is a need to transform environmental data into Trusted Decision Ready Information and make it available throughout European Data Spaces. The CitiObs released a policy brief presenting a solution using the principles of immutable and discoverable assets, in a truly distributed environment that is technologically neutral, that requires minimum modifications in current systems, does not require duplication of assets, and retains the producer data sovereignty.
This study evaluates the current status of the EuroGEO Green Deal Data Space Action Group, examining potential contributions to policies, state-of-the-art data capabilities and services offered by members and key players in the field, and developing a strategy to empower the Action Group within EuroGEO.
In early October, Vienna welcomed members of the EuroGEO Action Group on the Green Deal Data Space for the Open Earth Monitor Global Workshop and a pre-meeting in the Natural History Museum of Vienna.
The lack of relevant metadata in geospatial data prevents the identification of useful datasets. The Sister Projects of the GDDS Action Group are comparing the metadata concepts used by each project towards a joint policy brief on metadata requirements for the GDDS.
