Environmental data are crucial for achieving the European Green Deal, but remain fragmented and underused. The Green Deal Data Space (GDDS) aims to enable trusted, FAIR-compliant data sharing to support the green transition. Four EU-funded projects have developed key recommendations for its effective implementation, now consolidated to guide future action.
This study, tasked by the Knowledge Centre for Earth Observation (KCEO) of the Joint Research Center (JRC), aims to evaluate the current status of the EuroGEO Green Deal Data Space Action Group, examining its links to International/national/local policies, and developing a strategy to empower the Action Group within EuroGEO.
Monitoring the goals and targets in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework will need to couple headline indicators with additional indicators.Open and FAIR biodiversity indicators will facilitate the sustainability and self-governance of indicators by Parties of the Convention of Biological Diversity over time.
